Abandonned comic with Orson Welles

Since you seem to like it on my page, I edit a note.

"The Cigar That Fell in Love With a Pipe" ("L'histoire du cigare amoureux d'une pipe")

I worked on it 5 years ago with the writer David Camus. I didn't have the time and the maturity to go on though. So the comic is now on another illustror's hands. And it will get published at Self MadeHero this April, I read in David Camus's blog.

It starts with Orson Welles smoking a very rare cigar and as the story progresses, you learn how this cigar was made and about the spirit within. Obviously, I went to the library looking for Cuba's pictures and documentation, but also at the Hollywood pre-war period.

October's fancy dress time

Just seen Margaret from the Addams family on Tumblr while looking for a Halloween costume.

and made me think how Maggie Smith ("Sister Act"- left) and Dana Ivey ("Rush Hour 3"- right) look so alike:

I've always been marveled by their "stiff upper lip" appearance.

Easter stamps

Emilie's birthday was the perfect excuse to procrastinate a bit and make one of the DIY of my Pinterest: the rubber stamp.

A set of "Build your London" from Muji found at Oxfam suited perfectly for the stamp's base. And lastly, a cute packet made with a sheet of Hotel Chocolat's Easter catalogue.

Un jeu de Muji "Construit ton Londres" trouvé dans un charity shop sert de base pour coller le tampon.

Et en dernier, un joli packaging réalisé grâce à une feuille du catalogue 'Easter' d' "Hotel chocolat".

Women's day / book week

J'ai croisé Pocahontas, Viking, Boucle d'Or et Harry Potter .

C'était la "semaine du livre" et les enfants londoniens se déguisent comme le héros de leur livre choisi et pas qu'à moitié. Je me demande ce que pouvaient être le titre du livre des trois premiers.

La Marmite Sauce n'y sera pas ( et tant mieux) car ces produits ne sont pas pour la plupart disponibles dans les supermarchés lambdas. Au mieux, tu peux passer chez Whole Foods et ça fera un petit bobo au porte-monnaie.

Mais là, c'est magique. L'équipe de FlavrBox se donne énormément de mal pour trouver des trucs de la mort qui tue! La preuve, j'ai eu du "dried beef snack". Bon, le truc, c'est que le réseau est encore national.. mais je vous en parle car il se peut que cela traverse la Manche et vous bataillerez pour un petit bout de cracker. Ha!
J'aime le design de l'ensemble rétro et surtout j'adore le sticker avec son petit bonhomme.

I can't say how much I'm absolutely delighted by the concept, I love the surprise and enjoy discovering the various items that I'll share with my housemates. The retro design fits perfectly the concept and I particularly love the sticker representing Mr Flavor, if it's not his name, I just go for it myself.
